Né à Saint-Albans ( Angleterre ) en 1967, Clive Smith connaît une entrée brillante sur la scène internationale lorsqu’il remporte, en (1998), le prestigieux prix du BP Portrait Award Competition, concours organisé par la National Portrait Gallery de Londres.  Inspiré par la figuration humaine, Clive Smith explore les frontières réelles ou imaginaires auxquelles nous sommes tous confrontés. Il vit aujourd’hui à New York et se consacre entièrement à son art.

Born in Saint Albans, England in 1967, Clive Smith made an astonishing entrance upon the international scene in 1998 after being awarded third prize in the prestigious BP Portrait Award Competition, organized by the National Portrait Gallery in London. His portrait of Sir Ian McKellan is also in their collection.  Galerie de Bellefeuille presented Clive Smith's catalogued debut exhibition in 1999.  He has lived and worked (with great dedication to his art), in New York City for the past several years.
