Mon travail des dernières années explore l'usage de la photographie en tant que medium de création. Que ce soit un Polaroïd SX-70 ou une épreuve photographique peinte puis re-photographiée, Je vois la photographie comme source de création et non pas comme un moyen de documenter la réalité.

Mon travail s'inspire de l'érosion et du changement de notre environnement et de notre culture. Ces thèmes ont toujours inspiré mon travail. Comme notre société évolue, il y a un niveau de détérioration et de transformation qui se produit inéluctablement. C'est au spectateur de décider si mon travail rend romantique, documente ou dévoile la vérité sur ces changements selon leur perception et leur conscience du monde qui les entoure.

Cela ne veut pas dire que le spectateur doit trouver un sens à l'œuvre mais plutôt que l'artiste ne se doit  pas nécessairement proposer un sens ou une interprétation pour son travail. Chacun doit appréhender les œuvres en leur apportant les liens, associations et sens qui leur sont personnels.

My work over the past several years has explored the use of photography as a medium to create.  Whether it is sx-70 Polaroid’s or photographic prints painted and then re-photographed, I understand photography as a means to create rather than to document a reality.

The work is inspired by a theme of degradation or change in our environment, and culture.  This theme has been evolving in my work for years. As we progress as a society there is a level of degradation and change that is bound to happen. Whether I romanticize, document, or reveal truth about this degradation is left up to the viewer’s own perception, their own awareness of the world around them, and their own experiences within that world. 

That is not to say that the viewer must bring meaning but that the artist should not force meaning and associations onto them.  One should experience the work and bring their own relations, associations and meaning to it.
